Thermal-Grip® TubeSeal®

Thermal-Grip TubeSeal® (ci) fasteners attach continuous insulation and help seal the blind fastener penetration through the WRB or air barrier behind it. Each fastener comes pre-assembled: a polypropylene Thermal-Grip washer, a polyurethane tube and the screw.

Choosing a fastener

• Insulation thickness: 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5 or 4 in nominal. The tube length is matched to it.
• HiLo screw for wood framing; SDS (self-drilling) screw for steel.
• Box of 500 (1 to 2 in) or 250 (2.5 to 4 in).

How it seals

As the fastener is driven, the UV-resistant, ether-based polyurethane tube compresses against the WRB, sealing on the underside of the washer and on the WRB surface. The washer flattens on the face of the insulation for flush cladding.

Installation

• Typical pattern for 4 ft × 8 ft XPS and polyiso panels: 16 in × 16 in.
• Typical pattern for 2 ft × 4 ft mineral wool panels: 5 fasteners per panel.
• Tested with polyiso, XPS and mineral wool over sheet, fluid-applied, self-adhered and integrated WRBs (ASTM E331, E1186, E2357).
