WickRight Vapor Permeable Membrane is the breathable layer at the heart of the WickRight passive ventilation system — a building membrane that holds back wind-driven rain at the parapet while letting interior moisture vapor escape through the vent path.
What it does
It is mechanically fastened to the parapet substrate beneath WickRight metal flashings and vents. Vapor permeability of 108 per ASTM E96 lets moisture vapor rise through and exhaust to the exterior; the membrane resists 19.1 psi of direct water pressure and held 8 oz of standing water for 9.5 hours in testing with minimal seepage.
When and where to use it
- Under any WickRight Vented Drip Edge / Receiver Clip / Roof Vent installation
- Parapet walls of any composition (brick, concrete, masonry combinations)
- Both new construction and retrofit on wet-masonry buildings
