- mWire – 1
- Well Sensor – 1
- Strap-on sensor – 4
With similar characteristics to the traditional mBox that integrates with additional mZones (zoning modules) to fulfill the requirements of complex hydronic systems, the mBox5 provides a simple one-box solution for small to medium sized hydronic systems (5 zones) and is a Passive House high performance building material.
To simplify system setup and give the installer complete freedom and flexibility to program the controllers, the mBox5 come with a new configuration wizard. The configuration wizard is a tool that is completely integrated with the Messana App to allow the hydronic contractor to configure the control device in just a few steps. Even for complex systems, the system is easily programmed by entering the system information and parameters and navigating a set of predefined pages.
More Technical Information:
mBox5: 5-zone programmable HVAC/Hydronic control unit. 8 DO (4+1sync 24VDC, 2 dry + 2 pow relays), 5 DI, 6 AI, 4 AO, 24VDC, WAN, HDMI/USB, Modbus, RS485 zone bus. 130W 110/220VAC 50/60Hz.
The new mBox5 controller is suitable for small and medium-size hydronic systems with the following features:
Zones: Up to 5 zones. Each zone requires an mSense comfort sensor. Each zone can have up to two terminals and one contact window.
Heating and cooling terminals: Radiant ceilings, radiant floors, hydronic fan coils (analog or digital control). Each terminal can be set for both heating and cooling.
Air systems: ATUs for Heat Recovery Ventilation, free cooling, and dehumidification, or NTD for dehumidification only. Controlled via Modbus.
Hydronic systems: Up to 3 independent hydronic systems. One or two with buffer tanks for radiant terminals with temperature controls (3-way valve) and an additional one for ATUs and/or fan coils.
DHW: With a dedicated tank and recirculation pump (optional)
H/C sources: HP and boiler (optional)
Once the configuration is completed a wiring table can be generated. The table indicates every connection to the mBox to make the installation quick and easy. An selection of representative mechanical layouts are also available. Once the system is set up and running, the configuration tool can be used to make last-minute changes.
Product: mSense
In order to provide radiant cooling without the risk of condensation, we use our mSense room comfort sensors to monitor operative temperature, relative humidity, and volatile organic compounds.
By using operative temperature and relative humidity data, we can continuously monitor the dew-point temperature throughout a structure; and our controls can then activate dehumidifiers and/or regulate the temperature of the radiant ceiling panels to ensure that the radiant surface temperature never falls below the dew-point temperature.
Additionally, using the volatile organic compound data, we can efficiently provide demand-driven mechanical ventilation to maintain excellent indoor air quality.
Room operative temp/RH/VOC sensor 24V AC/DC, Modbus-RTU, O-inâ„¢ wall mounting.
Mounting requires mSense Installation Kit.
